Fallen Hero's
The United Federations of Police were founding members and are continuing supporters of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF). The NLEOMFs continuing recognition of our Brothers and Sisters who have paid the ultimate price, and fallen in the line-of-duty, can be found by clicking here or on the image above. FBI statistics reveal majority of officers feloniously killed by those with prior criminal arrsts. From 2001-2010 there were 587 known offenders in connection with felonious officer deaths, and 483 (82.2%) had prior criminal arrest; 375 (63.8%) convicted on prior criminal charge; 101 (17.2%) received juvenile conviction on prior criminal charge; 304 (51.7%) received parole/probation on prior criminal charge. Prior arrests were for: crime of violence (261); murder (26); drug law violation (262); assaulting an officer/resisting arrest (133); weapons violation (226). . And more than one-in-four (27.9%) were under judicial supervision at the time. Of the 587 known offenders, 164 (27.9%) of them were under judicial supervision at the time of the incident; 80 (13.6%) were on probation; 54 (9%) on parole; 3 (0.5%) in halfway house; 8 (1.3%) escapees from penal institutions; 18 (3%) conditional release, pending criminal prosecution; one not reported.
